Summer Weight Loss Tips

It’s swimsuit season and chances are if you’re like most people your old New Year’s Resolution is about to become your new summer weight loss program. Oops!

Here are 3 simple things you can do today to start losing weight this summer:

1. Summer is a great time to get outdoors and move your body. Biking, hiking, swimming, pretty much anything that raises your heart rate for at least 20 minutes a day will do the trick. This will increase your metabolism and help you to burn calories faster.

2. Fresh fruits and vegetables are plentiful during the summer months. Instead of reaching for a that bag of junk food, why not mix up a bowl full of berries instead? Produce is in season, tastes great, and is full of low calorie nutrients your body needs.

3. Take some time to relax. The link between stress and weight gain is well documented. Take 20 minutes in the morning to practice self-hypnosis. Not only will you feel better for the rest of the day but your appetite will go down right along with your stress levels.
