Reasons To Stop Smoking
Want to motivate someone to stop smoking? Then take them to see the “Bodies Exhibition” that’s touring the country. It offers one of the most compelling reasons to stop smoking I’ve ever seen. I just went to it this past weekend in Puerto Rico and was really struck by the room that features the effects of smoking on the lungs.
Seeing the actual ruined lungs from now deceased smokers (and not just words and pictures to that effect) evokes an overwhelming emotional response that could very well cause people to throw away their cigarettes and kick the habit on the spot. In fact, there was a container filled with abandoned cigarette packs in the center of the room standing as evidence of people’s newfound desire to quit.
Despite all the success I’ve had helping people with my Stop Smoking Hypnosis CDs, the challange is always getting the person to decide to quit in the first place. Everyone knows hypnosis works really well for smoking cessassion, as long as you have a strong enough reason to quit. Short of visiing an ephasima ward, the “Bodies Exhibit” delivers that reason very powerfully.
If you’re not familiar with this exhibit, it’s the one that features disected cadavers in active, lifelike poses preserved and displayed for posterity. Very unnerving but quite educational.
I’d resisted going to this exhibit in the past because I’m actually a bit squeemish when it comes to dead bodies, preserved or otherwise, and that’s exactly why the “smoker’s lungs” section is so effective.
When you see an actual lung from a healthy adult side by side with one that’s stained by tar and essentially destroyed from cigarettes it really hits you on a gut level.
It’s one thing to read a statistic like “every pack of cigarettes you smoke will reduce your lifespan by 3 hours and 40 minutes”, quite another to see the effects of that behavior on actual human organs.
Especially if you have a teenager that you’d like to steer away from smoking, I think this would be a very effective way to do it. What teenageer wouldn’t want to go see a bunch of dead bodies after all?
After getting emotionally engaged in the exhibit thorughout the first few rooms, you’re suddenly hit with several very real, very dead ex-smokers who’s life was snuffed out prematurely by this toxic habit.
When you’re ready to kick the habit once and for all, pick up a copy of my Stop Smoking Hypnosis CDs and just do it. They’re backed by my 90 day unconditional guarantee so you’re risking nothing and gaining your health, your vitality, and the assurance that you won’t end up like one of those cadavers in the exhibit. However you decide to do it, don’t wait another day. Life is precious and brief, why waste it on this deadly habit.
